Hannah Markert, B.A,
Literacy Tutor and Tutoring Lead
Hannah provides literacy tutoring in both English and French. She has a Bachelor's degree in Linguistics from Saint Mary's University. She also completed a double minor in Psychology and English. Before beginning her Linguistics degree, Hannah's education was completed through the Conseil Scolaire Acadien Provincial (CSAP). Hannah has experience supporting neurodiverse children. While in the Linguistics program at SMU, Hannah worked as a tutor for that department. She is currently in the graduate Speech-Language Pathology program at Dalhousie University.


Amy Hicks, B.Sc.
Literacy Tutor
Amy earned her Bachelor of Science with Honours in Psychology and a minor in Gender and Women Studies at Dalhousie University. She completed her Honours research in the Language and Literacy Lab at Dalhousie. She offers literacy tutoring to students in English. She is currently pursuing her graduate studies at Dalhousie University in Speech-Language Pathology.
Casandra Hayar, B.Sc.
Literacy Tutor
Casandra offers literacy tutoring in both English and French; she previously completed her schooling (primary and secondary) through Conseil Scolaire Acadien Provincial (CSAP). In 2024, she received a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Neuroscience from Dalhousie University. Her course curriculum focused on learning behaviour which allows her to understand the importance of instructional teaching. She is currently in the Speech-Language Pathology graduate program at Dalhousie University.

Leah MacDonald, M.T., NSCT
Math and Literacy Tutor
Leah has a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Development from Dalhousie University. She earned her Master of Teaching at Ontario Institute for Studies in Education. She is a resource teacher with the Halifax Regional Centre for Education and is passionate about supporting learners with diverse learning needs. She is currently working towards her Master of Education in Curriculum Studies: Supporting Learners with Diverse Needs and Exceptionalities from Mount Saint Vincent University.
